Open Door Hours
The front doors of Old Stone are open from 11am to 3pm Monday through Friday. One of our Open Door volunteers is on hand during that time. During office hours when the front doors are closed, visitors who would like to come to the Sanctuary or Chapel for quiet reflection and prayer may enter through the Ontario entrance.
Who Are Our Visitors?
Cleveland-area visitors include those who have always wanted to see what the church looked like inside, while others were married or baptized here, or had parents or grandparents who were married at Old Stone. Many school groups visit Old Stone to witness the site where much of Cleveland’s history was made. Some people come in looking for help of some kind, and if possible, we direct them to a pastor or some other source of help. There are others who come in regularly to sit and pray.
Out of town visitors include persons from all over the world. These visitors are given the opportunity to sit and pray, but more often come to view the art and architecture of the church. Volunteers often help these visitors plan their Cleveland time by sharing information about other Cleveland points of interest and current activities.
Visitors are invited to meet with our docents by the center front pew following worship to share some of the fascinating highlights of the Old Stone Church’s history and architecture.
